Veterinarians
Dr. Cheryl Pfeffer, DVM, CVA
Veterinarian | Tulsa Location
Cheryl Pfeffer DVM, CVA, is a native of Oklahoma. She grew up in the Shawnee area and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a Veterinarian. She obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1990 and her DVM degree in 1995 from Oklahoma State University.
During Veterinary School, she completed an internship in Exotic Animal Medicine at Kansas State University, where she had the opportunity to work with two zoos.
After graduation, she and her husband moved to Dallas, where she worked with both companion animals and exotic animals. She came home to Oklahoma in 2005, where she has continued to work with all of the pets that she loves and joined the family of Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital in 2010.
Dr. Cheryl Pfeffer loves being able to make a difference in the lives of her patients and their people. She enjoys working with furry, scaled, and feathered family members. Her special interests are dermatology, ultrasound, endocrinology, internal medicine, orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, feline medicine, exotic pet medicine, acupuncture, and herbal therapy.
In her free time, she likes to spend it with her husband, James, her three children, three dogs, and one cat. She also likes painting, sewing, and gardening.
Dr. Pfeffer is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, the Tulsa County Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Avian Veterinarians. She also received her Acupuncture certification at the Chi Institute in Florida.
Dr. Kristy Cox, DVM
Veterinarian | Broken Arrow Location
Dr. Cox comes to us from Missouri. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri.
You will meet her at our Broken Arrow location. She is extremely talented with internal medicine cases and surgery. She loves dental cleanings.
She lives with her husband, Eric, and dog Finnel.

Dr. Brie Shillingford, DVM

Dr. Ellen Tredway, DVM, CVA
Veterinarian
Dr. Ellen Tredway is a dedicated associate veterinarian and Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) at Animal Medical and Surgical Hospital. Though recently graduated as a DVM, she brings over a decade of experience in the veterinary field. A proud alumna of Oklahoma State University, Dr. Tredway has a strong passion for preventative care, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, and integrative medicine.
She holds certification in animal acupuncture from the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida, and utilizes this skill to help manage chronic pain conditions such as osteoarthritis. Dr. Tredway has a deep compassion for senior pets and is committed to enhancing their comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Tredway enjoys spending time with her husband and their beloved pets. Her free time is often filled with reading, painting, gaming, and outdoor adventures.

Our animal caregivers are the heart of our boarding and hospitalized care services. They work seven days a week to ensure your pet’s comfort, health, and happiness—whether it’s medication administration, extra playtime, or cozy accommodations.
We also offer add-on pampering services like bathing, enrichment activities, and special diets to make your pet’s stay as enjoyable as possible.
